Sensemaker narrative research projects

Complexability consultants have considerable experience in using the SenseMaker narrative research method developed by Cognitive Edge

  • This is a complexity based narrative research tool with associated methods that provides an understanding of a particular topic or issue through the collection an analysis of people's experiences (micro narratives)

  • Priorities the voices of these experiences and the meaning that they attribute to their own experience

  • Aggregates the resulting data into visual representation of patterns and trends that can be used to design, initiate and monitor improvements, advocate for change

Why would you do a SenseMaker project?

Organisations that we work with would agree with one or more of the following statements ...

  • The things that we have tried to resolve our most challenging issues are not working

  • There are too many different opinions about what to do next

  • We have a number of organisations that have to learn to work together to address significant social issues

  • We need to understand the impact of the various initiatives we are undertaking

  • We need to demonstrate the value of what we are doing in new and different ways

If you work with us, this is what you can expect ...
