The Cynefin Co is coming to Australia 2023

The Cynefin Co, in partnership with the Cynefin Center Australia and Complexability, are delighted to announce Dave Snowden and Anna Pangiotou will be in Australia in August and September 2023 for a series of events and workshops.

Overall, the trip is built around a theme of applied complexity. This includes specific events or threads around:

  • Learning Simulation and Modelling
  • Leadership and Ethics
  • Participative Engagement and Complex Facilitation 

AUSTRALASIAN SIMULATION CONGRESS 2023

Theme: Life Between Reality and Simulation

August 21 – 24, Adelaide Convention Centre

Dave Snowden is one of the keynote speakers at the Congress, presenting on 21 August.

The 2023 theme reflects the practical considerations for bringing simulations to life: budgets, diversity and inclusion, ethics, innovation and purposeful holistic approaches.

COMPLEXITY IN ACTION – TAKE 2

Theme: Practical explorations of complexity based methods and approaches for systems and processes that are no longer ‘fit for purpose’

September 4 – 5, Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre

Dave Snowden and Anna Panagiotou will participate in this Conference.

Areas of focus will include:

  • Complex projects and all of its components
    • Partnering
    • Tendering, Commissioning and procurement
    • Planning and strategy
    • Measuring and monitoring: outcomes and impact
    • Learning and feedback
  • Complex facilitation for community activators – moving beyond professional facilitators to effect locally based initiatives
  • ‘In the moment’ SenseMaker® data collection, insights and sense-making
  • Networking opportunities

CYNEFIN CO RETREAT

Theme:   Citizen Engagement and Democratic Innovation
September 6 – 9, Scenic Rim – O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat (2 hours from Brisbane)

Following the success of last years in-person retreat, this will become an annual event.  This Retreat will focus on the theme of Leadership and Ethics.

Retreats are rich opportunities to share and co-create emergent knowledge and understanding through discussion and debate, stimulated by a diverse faculty providing provocative food for thought, including Dave Snowden. Participating faculty for this retreat will be announced shortly.
